Recommended yarn: DK / 8ply weight Superwash Merino wool. The sample shown was knitted in Orb DK from Skeinz New Zealand.

Gauge: Knit in the round, in pattern will be 26 stitches x 30 rounds = 10cm/4” (4mm/US6 needles).

As the cabled/twisted stitches pull the work in your pattern will have a tighter gauge.
This hat is designed to have quite a bit of stretch so I recommend you choose the same needles that you would use for standard stocking stitch gauge of 22 sts x 30 rounds per 10cm/4”.

Meterage: Approximately.
If you are working a double folded over brim, add approximately 20% extra yarn to the meterage below.
Newborn: 60m/66yd Infant: 70m/77yd Toddler: 110m/120yd Child: 130m/142yd Adult: 165m/180yd Adult L: 180m/197yd

Recommended needles: (adjust needles to meet gauge)
3.5mm/US4 for ribbing and 4mm/US6, 30-40cm/12-16” length circular needles.
