The unorthodox construction of this cowl is only part of its appeal. The double layer of cables works to increase the comfort factor of this versatile accessory

Simone begins as a semi-circular shawl, with a Garter Tab cast on and increase rows evenly spaced within rows of stockinette stitch. When the top edge reaches the appropriate length, stitches are cast on to create the applied cabled border. The border is made up of two cabled bands, with short rows giving the bottom band more length in order to give the cowl its flared shape. When the border is complete and bound off, the cast on and bound off ends are seamed together to form a loop and create the cowl.
