The Simple Advent Cowl is knit in simple garter stitch; it can be knit in the round (pages 2-3 of pattern) to create a long, flat tube OR knit flat (pages 4-5 of pattern) and sewn up the side to create the tube. The ends of the tube are either sewn together or knit together using kitchener stitch. This creates a very warm, squishy cowl that may be worn double-wrapped around your neck or as a single, longer loop.

This cowl uses 20 colors (though you could certainly adjust to include more or less colors), and is ideal for using advent yarn calendar miniskeins—roughly 60% of each 20g miniskein (approx. 55 yards) is used—or any other leftovers you have may be used as well!

Yarn is held double throughout; individual strands are dropped/picked up as you go to create a nice fade between the colors.

This free pattern is my very first written pattern; please message me if you find any errors or have any questions! Thank you!
