Cute and simple baby socks that will fit babies from 0 to at least 3 months old. Knit top down, with a heel flap and a gusset. An easy fair isle pattern runs along the leg part. The leg is long enough for that extra warmth that babies need during their first months. The pattern is written for working on one pair of long circular needles and magic loop method. This pattern can be easily adopted for bigger sizes using DK or Worsted weight yarns.

Skills required:

  • knit in round with circular needles and magic loop method;
  • stranded knitting;
  • grafting ( aka Kitchener stitch);

Materials:

  • 15-20g of fingering (14 wpi) weight yarn. The sample shown is knitted with Rosarios 4 Meia (70% merino wool, 30% polyamide)
  • Circular needles for knitting magic loop method, at least 32’’/ 80 cm long:
  • 1.5 US/2.5 mm for ribbing and stockinette;
  • 2.5 US/3 mm for colourwork knitting.

Sizes:

  • This pattern only has one size. Will fit babies from 0 to at least 3 months old. Socks are enough stretchy, just make sure to use stretchy cast on.
