I’d just finished knitting Bitta’s Mittens and wanted a hat to go with them. Nothing fitted exactly so I thought I’d have a go at making one up.

Having bought the yarn in France I’m not sure of its exact weight, I reckon either worsted or DK would do the job excellently, or even Aran for a slightly bigger hat. The size given fits my head, which is a fairly average female head - I’d suggest maybe stepping up the weight and needle size if it’s for a man, and down the needle size if it’s for a child. I’ve never bothered with gauge so don’t know what that should be. If you’re normally too tight or loose then adjust accordingly.

This used less than 1 50g ball of my yarn, a great stash-buster!

This is my first pattern, I tried to write it in a way that was simple to read. Please do let me know if there are any mistakes, there shouldn’t be but you never know.
