A simple, yet interesting sock appropriate for beginners to experts, these socks feature small cables that do not require an extra cable needle to make. The pattern is written to coach new sock knitters through knitting impressive-looking, yet simple socks using 4 double-pointed needles; however, the pattern is easily adaptable to any preferred needle type. Make socks that fit perfectly by easily changing the leg or foot length.

Sizes (Foot Length):

  • 2-4 (6 inches)
  • 6-8 (7½ inches)
  • Women’s (10½ inches)
  • Men’s (11 inches)

Yarn (fingering weight or sock yarn):

  • Sizes 2-4, 6-8: 50 g
  • Sizes Women’s and Men’s: 100 g
  • Samples are shown in size 2-4 in Mountain Colors Crazyfoot in Harmony Lake colorway and size Men’s in Dream in Color Smooshy in Happy Forest colorway.

Tools:

  • Set of four size 2.75-mm (US size 2) double-pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Stitch marker or other way to mark beginning of round
