This scarf is designed especially for silk double knit/worsted yarn. I had bought some Willowknits mini skeins of this yarn in several glorious colours and decided I wanted the luxury of a warm winter scarf with the drape of silk. I had 9 colours of yarn in various lengths, so a motif design was natural. The yarn has such a glorious lustre. You can find the yarn in Willowknits Etsy shop.

I decided on a simple circle motifs, but when you join circles you can find large gaps between them. However, treat them a little like a hexagon and the joins are tighter, the gaps smaller. So that is what I did.

As made to the pattern the scarf measures 25cm (10”) wide by 170cm (67”) long when blocked. It is made of 49 motifs, 3 wide and 16/17 long. You can of course adapt to alternative yarns and use it in other projects - I’d love to see this motif in a snuggly blanket.

It is a great stashbuster.
