As with most of my other shawls, this shawl is especially suitable for bed ridden, hospital, nursing home and wheelchair bound patients.
This shawl is a great stash buster. It can be knit in one color or multiple coordinating colors to create stripes. The width of the stripes can be varied by the individual knitter to add more interest to the pattern.
Because you simply knit and make increases until the shawl reaches your desired size, any weight yarn can be used. However, because the intention of the design is warmth and comfort and hand feel, I recommend worsted or DK weight for their thickness and “squishiness”.
Gauge and needle size are really not critical. You determine the finished size. Use what you want. Use what you have. Stop knitting when it is as large as you want.
