We wanted to create go-to patterns for fingerless mitts in several different yarn weights, knitted on double pointed needles or using the magic loop technique. This is a basic pattern that includes instructions for fingering, DK, worsted, aran and bulky yarns.

(The top photo at the left shows this pattern in Urth Yarns Uneek Fingering yarn, which gives you enough yardage for 3 pairs of mitts from one skein, each mitt a little different from the others! The Uneek Sock kit from Urth yarns will give you 3 matching pairs. Second photo shown in worsted weight Plymouth Gina yarn)

When you purchase the pattern be sure to download either the double pointed needle version or the magic loop version, whichever you are more comfortable with.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Fingering – 180 yds fingering weight yarn
