This is a pattern I designed for a class on circular knitting. It is intended to introduce newer knitters to the fundamentals of knitting in the round. It can be knit on 4 or 5 double pointed needles, on a circular using the magic loop technique, or (as written) for two circulars.

You will cast on one extra stitch, join in the round, knit a tube, decrease, and knit i-cord.

The egg cosy should be easily completed within a few hours, you can knit one for each member of the family in a single day.

The rolled brim of the cosy can be rolled up to show off your egg, or down to keep it toasty warm. You can embellish your cosy with initials, or flowers, or whatever you like. You can even insert a pipe-cleaner into the i-cord section to make any shape you like.

The pattern is easily adapted to stripes, simple colourwork, or fancy stitches. Give it your own twist, and please share your creations! I love seeing your work.
