The hat is knitted in the round. It features a simple lace design called Openwork V Pattern and a rolled brim.

I made the pictured hat using natural colored sportweight yarn made from the wool of our sheep.

The circumference of the unstretched hat is 20 inches (52cm) and the length is 6 1/2” (17cm) before blocking.

To knit the hat you will need:
1 skein (200 yards) sportweight yarn
1 circular knitting needle size 4 (3.5mm) 16 inches long
1 set of 5 double-pointed needles no.4 (3.5mm)
1 tapestry needle for weaving in the ends
1 stitch marker

This pattern is for personal, non-commercial use only.

If you are interested in our yarn (Timberwolf Farm) I can send you information about what we have available at the time. Since we are selling at local markets, availability of our yarns varies. We have 2 alpacas and 11 sheep. We carry sport weight and DK (light worsted) yarns in white and different shades of gray. Some of it is spun and blended by hand. I also dye yarn with plants from our garden (indigo, coreopsis, madder, marigold, weld) and with acid dyes from the Greener Shades brand.
