This pattern is for making a simple scarf with a diagonal edge and a simple lace pattern along the center. The directions are given with a worsted to bulky weight yarn in mind but could be done with a finer weight yarn (and a smaller needle) but will require more yarn than has been specified here.

The length of the scarf is determined by the number of stitches that are cast on (directions on determining the number of stitches for the length are given rather than an actual gauge) and the width is determined by the number of repeats of the two row lace pattern are done.

The scarves in the picture were all knitted using US 10.5 (6.5 mm) needles and three different yarns. In each case one skein of yarn was used.
