This is a simple top-down sock pattern, which uses a heel flap construction. For those of you who love my workshop pattern, this pattern is modelled after that, although I’ve expanded the sizing for the sock to include sizes from Toddler (5.5” foot circumference) up to Men’s XL (10” foot circumference). Hopefully this will be your go-to sock pattern for yourself and other sock lovers in your life.

The pattern is shown using Sylvan Tiger Yarn’s Yan Tethera Sock yarn in her new ‘Alf n ‘alf colour ways. The colour ways are unnamed as they are shaped by whatever is currently inspiring Katie in the dye pots!

’Alf n ‘alf is Yorkshire for half and half. Each skein is dyed in two halves - a solid colour half and a speckled half. When knitted, this creates micro-stripes - roughly one round in the colour from each half of the skein.

Yarn: 100g 4ply yarn - shown in: Sylvan Tiger Yarn ‘Alf n ‘alf Sock set - 100g MC + 20g CC mini Yan Sock, 100% high twist BFL, 365m/399yd per 100g and 73m/79yd per 20g mini
Note: for smaller sizes, you will not need the full 100g; for larger sizes, particularly the Men’s XL, you may wish to have slightly more than 100g
Needles: 2.5mm (US 1.5) for knitting small diameters
Notions: 2 stitch markers, wool needle
