There are 7 sizes, to fit band sizes 17 - 23 inches (43 - 58.5 cm).

While the crown shaping allows for a close-fitting beanie style, the height can be lengthened if desired; just be sure to ensure there is enough yarn.

The fit is designed for approximately 2 inches (5 cm) of negative ease, but given the sizes available, this can be adjusted easily.

The same stitch count applies throughout the rise of the hat, so there is no shaping. The appearance of shaping comes from pairing a 1x1 half-twisted rib on the band with a stockinette rise. For a straight fit, continue in the ribbing to the end.

While the example is striped, and that’s in the name, this project would work up fine in a single color/yarn….or go scrappy with a stashbust!
