Simple Summer Hat
“Look ma, no brim wire!”

Using a sport weight (think 6 stitches to the inch) and sizes 1 or 2 circular and double point needles we will make a linen stitch summer hat. The 2.5” brim will curl up a bit on it’s own. Or you run yarn through the “hem” to create a tighter curl.

You Will Need:
Yarn: 3-4 oz/ 275-366 yards of sport weight yarn.
The hat (beautifully modeled by my girls) was made with our Southern Exposure yarn—organic cotton, grown in Texas and California and processed in my home state of NC!

The band is our Simply Knitted Headband pattern.

Needles: US size 1/2.25 mm or 2/ 2.75 mm circular (16”) and
double pointed of the same sizes for the crown decreases.

A Note About Cotton: the hat will stretch with wear, it is cotton. If it gets too stretched out just throw it in the wash and it will shrink back up. The dryer will shrink it more in depth than circumference.
