The Simple Summer Shawl is beginner-friendly crochet triangle shawl

This triangle shawl is neither a bottom-up nor a top-down shawl. It is worked from one end of the triangle to another along the length of the shawl.

The main body of the shawl uses only two stitches- chain and double crochet stitches with simple increases and decreases on one side. When you start the shawl from one corner, you keep increasing in each row along one fixed side.

When you reach the midpoint of the shawl, you start decreasing in each row along the same side.
This increasing and then decreasing along the side form the V-point of the triangle shawl. To top it all off, the shawl is finished with a beautiful shell-inspired border

Yarn
One cake of Scheepjes whirl is sufficient to do the entire shawl, even if you want to include tassels. Gauge is not crucial for this pattern. However, the finished measurements may vary according to your gauge.

Finished measurements
75’’ wide and 38.5’’ tall
