Corrugated Ribbing is a form of two color knitting, where one color is used for the knit rows and the contrasting color is used for the purl rows. It is created by working alternating columns of knits and purls. This creates a firmer, less stretchy fabric than a traditional ribbing. Duplicate stitch is an embroidery technique that lets you add designs to your knitted work by layering new stitches over existing ones. By Covering the “V” shapes formed by the knit stitches with the new color, the embroidered stitches appear as if they were originally knitted in.
Tips:
Color B should be the same thickness or slightly thicker in order to properly cover all of Color A. Some recommend using two threads of thinner yarn together.
Moving from left to right and top to bottom when creating the duplicate stitch typically leads to a neater outcome.
Check both sides of fabric after each stitch to ensure the tension is even and there are no snags.
