The hat is knit in the round, without seams, using the Mosaic knitting technique. Crown is shaped in an original way.
Mosaic or slip stitch knitting is a colorwork technique where you only knit with one color per row and change colors every 2 rows. The colorwork pattern is created by slipping stitches of the previous row(s) according to the pattern.
You don’t have to change colors in the same row, as you would with traditional stranding. This reduces tangling and tight knitting due to short floats.
