This is about the simplest crocheted hat you can make. In fact, I made this one in just one evening! Made in double crochet with a single crochet brim, this can even be a beginner’s very first project.

The stripes are simple, and can easily be eliminated if colourwork isn’t your thing.

Beanies are pretty flexible in the sizes of heads they’ll fit. This one is sized to fit a S/M adult head, and there are notes in the pattern on how to resize it.
