Sin Cos Tan is an asymmetrical triangle shawl which is worked across the lenght of the piece. The shawl grows by increasing stitches until the deepest point of the shawl is reached. After peaking the deepest point, increases are done only on one side and the shawl slowly narrows down.

The shawl’s simple stitch pattern combines garter stitch and slipped stitches and it is reversible since the pattern looks identical on both sides. There is a distinct center spine (consisting of double decreases) running across the shawl.

Sin Cos Tan is easy to knit once you get in the rhythm of increasing stitches. The pattern is easy to remember and fun to knit since there’s something happening every round.

The pattern is written for one size:
wingspan: 94.5” / 240 cm
depth: 25.5” / 65 cm
(if you want to make a smaller or bigger shawl, just start “PART B” sooner or later)

Please note the pattern relies on charts!
