This stunning beaded (optional) single vertical cable beanie is classic, timeless, and has wonderful simplistic beauty. There is a slouchy version and a fitted version offered in the pattern. It is knitted in the round on size 5 (for the slouchy version size 5 for the brim and size 6 for the body) 16-inch circular needles. Beads are an option. 194 size 6 beads were used on the featured hats. While this pattern offers “one size”, it also offers notes on how to go down or up sizes. For the fitted version, the gauge should be 6 stitches per inch and for the flouncy version, 5 stitches per inch. You will need: one skein of the fabulous Yarn Over New York in Greenwich Village DK (featured colorways: Deep Plum & Blackbird), size 5 and/or size 6 DPN’s (double-pointed needles), size 5 and/or size 16-inch circular needles, up to 194 beads (optional), a cable needle, and a darning needle.
