These pants were knit and worn by shepherds in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. Traditionally, they are made with yarn spun by the women in the shepherd’s family. This wool yarn is like a worsted or bulky weight yarn. The pants are knit-to-fit, so they are great for any body size.

You can read more about these pants, the men who made and wore them, and the pattern in the book, Keepers of the Sheep: Knitting in Morocco’s High Atlas and Beyond.
