This cowl and hat set are inspired by my Sittin’ Kitten sock pattern. I love my socks, but I wanted something that could be worn and seen throughout the day. Knit top-down (instead of the traditional bottom up for hats) will keep the cat ears pointed and the eyes looking more cat like.

You will need two skeins of Rasta (90 yards/150 g each skein) in solid or semi-solid contrasting colors. These two skeins will be enough for a hat with contrasting cowl, or two contrasting cowls, or two contrasting hats.

The hat is knit using US 11 (DPN and 16” circular).
The cowl is knit using US 15 (24” circular).

The hat uses approx 76g background and 24g for the kitten.
The cowl uses approx 82g background and 33g for the kitten.

Sample knit is Malabrigo Rasta Rosalinda and Soriano.
