The Birgit Shawl is a half-circle shawl made with two colours of fingering yarn. Your first colour is used for all of the stockinette or garter parts and the second colour is used in all of the lace parts.
In creating this design I imagined that you could use that one special skein that you buy on a trip or at a yarn show and let it shine in the lace parts by combining it with a solid or semi-solid for the stockinette parts.

My grey/green shawl is made with a lovely green skein from Shiobhancrafts that I got as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend. The grey is dyed by me to match.

My purple shawl is made from a glittery skein from Shiobhancrafts that I was gifted for my 30th birthday. The stockinette parts are made with a yarn I dyed to match.

The Birgit shawl is namned after my great-grandmother who was one of the coolest people I have ever known. She lived until she was 98 years old and was healthy right until the end. She is dearly missed.
