Skeletons Snakes are slithery Halloween decorations made from any fine lace weight yarn or cotton crochet thread. They’re flexible enough to be positioned for maximum creepiness. Whether they’re wrapped around a hand rail, coiled in a corner or mounted in an apothecary jar they’re suitably scary.

This design includes series of techniques for capturing the essence of snake skeletons in both knit and crochet. Its a mix and match pattern for creating a scary serpentine spine, skull and tail.

The spine can be made from reclaimed materials or crochet on a hairpin lace loom. The whole snake can be upscaled with slightly heavier yarn and slightly larger tools.

Since this doesn’t require a lot of yarn it should make a good stash reducer to get rid of small balls.
