This remarkable scarf is completely reversible, with crocheted pencils, crocheted paper and a lot of embroidery. Start drawing your own today!

Yarns
The twelve coloured pencils are crocheted in Yarn and Colors Must-have in the following colourways:
Mustard (015), Pearl (043), Orange (020), Red Wine (030), Lollipop (036), Lilac (055), Navy Blue (060), Blue Lake (066), Grass (082), Amazon (087), Brownie (025) and Black (100).
The part right below the tip is crocheted in Limestone (009).

For the coloured pencils, the embroidery and the fringe altogether, I used about 20 grams (50 metres) of each of the twelve colours. I used about 12 grams (30 metres) in Limestone. So, one skein of each colour (50 grams/125 metres) was more than enough for me.

The scarf is crocheted in DROPS Alpaca Uni Colour (50 grams/167 metres) in the Natural colourway (100). I used 8 skeins, or about 400 grams/1336 metres.

Finished size
The scarf measures about 240 x 40 cm, with the pencils and fringe included. The scarf itself is about 200 x 40 cm, so the pencils and the fringe are sticking out about 20 cm on each side. The length of the scarf is adjustable, of course.

Gauge
10 x 10 cm of the scarf (DROPS Alpaca with crochet hook 4 mm) = 20 stitches and 18 rows.
10 x 10 cm of the pencils (Must-have with crochet hook 3 mm) = 25 stitches and 22 rounds.

NB The embroidery on the sample scarf was completely improvised, so I do not provide detailed instructions to recreate that. Of course, you’ll find anything you need to know to create your own in the pattern!

Deze opvallende sjaal is volledig omkeerbaar en bestaat uit gehaakte potloden, gehaakt papier en veel borduursel. Tijd om te gaan tekenen!

Het is afhankelijk van je borduurwerk hoeveel garen je precies nodig hebt. Zelf had ik genoeg aan circa 20 gram (50 meter) in elk van de twaalf kleuren, plus circa 12 gram (30 meter) in Limestone. Een bol van elke kleur (50 gram/125 meter) was voor mij dus meer dan genoeg.

De sjaal is gehaakt in DROPS Alpaca Uni Colour in de kleur Naturel (100). Bollen van dit garen wegen 50 gram en hebben een looplengte van circa 167 meter. Voor mijn sjaal heb ik acht bollen gebruikt, dus 400 gram/circa 1336 meter.

Afmetingen
Inclusief potloden en franje is de sjaal circa 240 x 40 cm. De sjaal zelf is circa 200 x 40 cm, de potloden en de franje steken dus circa 20 cm uit. Uiteraard is de lengte van de sjaal gemakkelijk aan te passen.

Stekenverhouding
10 x 10 cm in de sjaal (DROPS Alpaca met 4 mm) = 20 steken en 18 toeren.
10 x 10 cm in de potloden (Must-have met 3 mm) = 25 steken en 22 toeren.

Let op: het borduursel op de voorbeeldsjaal is volledig geïmproviseerd. Je vindt dus geen gedetailleerde instructies in het patroon om dat na te maken. Uiteraard vertel ik je alles wat je weten moet om zelf te kunnen borduren!
