Skipför ~ sailing voyage (Old Icelandic / Norse).

Our Skipför Hat has been designed in brioche stitch to give additional depth to the fabric and warmth for breezy days or cold winter snaps. It can be knitted up with a full deep turn up, a chilled slouchy look or as a simple beanie. Opt for a two colour version and it will be fully reversible giving you a different look depending on which yarn colour is dominant or either side. Customise it further with a contrast stripe or stripes – whatever works for you, this is a simple pattern so you can reinvent it as you wish.

If just starting out with brioche knitting you might want to start with a single colour until you fully understand the technique.

Samples knitted in Birlinn Yarn shades -
