This pattern for a slouchy fair-isle style colorwork hat was written for a workshop at the 10th annual SkipNorth Retreat. It’s written for two versions, the slouchy version shown in gray and the more beanie-like version shown in cranberry. The gray sample is knitted in Paton Classic Merino, and the cranberry in Ella Rae Worsted, both wool yarns.

The yarn amount is the total for the slouchy version. The beanie version will take about 20 yards less than the slouch. This hat is a great way to use up small amounts of leftover worsted weight yarn.
