‘Skullduggery (A Hat)’ is a stranded colourwork hat, featuring ear flaps worked in German short rows and skull motifs. Worked using two yarns - one in a (semi-)solid and one in a variegated to mimic the colour shifts in traditional Fairisle without all the ends to weave in.

But it’s not just a hat! Thanks to the ties, it can also be worn as a cowl or, if you’re in a pinch, a face covering. So it’s maybe more of a ‘Howl’! LOL

If you’re using a variegated yarn, make sure you have lots of contrast between it and the (semi-)solid colour you choose. Alternatively, use a second (semi-)solid or more if you want a more trad look.
