Skymning is an original Bohus Stickning design which was first created around between 1948 and 1955 - most lin the second half of this period. The charted instructions accessible through the Bohuslan Museum’s digital collection, may be used with the pattern information included on the card. Alternatively they can be used in conjuction with pattern instructions from Bohus Stickning på nytt The Revival if more detailed instructions are required. This design is referenced in Bohus Stickning på nytt The Revival on p. 145 as design 465 from the time period 1948-1955 by Annika Malmstrom-Bladini. The pattern reference in the book and on the pattern card describe the pattern as being made from the Bohus Stickning angora merino yarn.

An original pattern card was published by the Bohuslan Museum in their digital collection in late 2024. It is stated as including 7 colours, 28, 152, 199, 246, 17, 164, 129. Some but not all of these colours have been recreated by Solsilke or Angora Garnet and may be available from them, however complete kits are not available as at 2026. Alternate needle sizes provided here are intended as a range to give you an idea of what may be required for you to achieve the stated gauge.

The original pattern card is linked below. Please note that the terms of the Bohuslan Museum’s licence applies to the use of its images and READ that licence before using their intellectual products.
