Slanted ladders is the perfect cool weather cardigan. Just enough to keep the chill away, but not too warm to wear on a summer day. I’ve designed and named it after my favorite beer at our local brewery, Grove Roots. If you ever find yourself in Winter Haven, Florida, I highly recommend a visit and swing by Four Purls Yarn Shop to show me your cardigan!

Materials: 900 (1200, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800) yards fingering weight yarn. Samples were knit in La Bien Aimée, Twisted Merino in color Aimée’s birthday; Emma’s Yarn, Practically Perfect Sock in color Gypsy Market; and Baah, La Jolla in Fuschia.
Size 6 32 inch circular needle or size needed in order to get gauge.
Size 6 DPNs (or 9 inch circulars or use your 32 inch and do the magic loop).
Size 4 needle or size needed in order to get gauge for collar. Extra size 4 needle, or interchangeable cable for provisional cast on.
Waste yarn or stitch holders
Darning needle

Baah La Jolla is available Here**

Gauge: 24 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles, blocked; 36 stitches and 64 rows = 4 in unblocked but slightly stretched in the collar pattern (collar gauge is not critical as long as you are happy with the width).

Sizes: S (M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL) to fit bust sizes: 34/36 (38/40, 42/44, 46/48, 50/52, 54/56)

Designed with positive ease in the arms, knit the size closest to your actual bust measurement. Cardigan does not close in the front.
