Slanty Stripe Socks
The Slanty Stripe Socks are colorwork socks with a graphic, slanted stripe design that takes the classic striped sock to a new level.
They look good in a variety of color combinations. They can either add a subtle coolness to any outfit by using more neutral colors - like a coal grey and a warm white - or be a colorful statement sock.
Pattern Details
The socks are knit top down on 2.25 mm (US 1) needles with a short ribbing section before starting the colorwork pattern. The colorwork pattern is provided as a chart.
The Slanty Stripe Socks also feature a shadow wrap heel.
The pattern includes links to various youtube videos to aid you in understanding how to knit colorwork, trap floats and knit the shadow wrap heel.
This is a leftie-friendly pattern.
Suggested Needle Size
2.25 mm (US1) needle
Patterns suitable for both dpns/sock needles and circular needles (Magic Loop method).
** Yardage**
The yardage for these socks varies depending on how often you repeat the pattern for the leg and foot part. Common totals of pattern repeats for the whole sock during testing where 14 and 16 repeats.
Up to size 3 or shoe size 41 you should be fine with 50 g of the MC yarn and about 30 g of the CC yarn. For size 4 or shoe sizes bigger than 41, you might get away with a single 50 g skein for the main color, but maybe get a bit more to be on the safe side. The pattern includes a chart with the yardage testers used for the socks:
