Giant slappy hand

I used premier parfait chunky yarn

Abbreviations
Sc- single chain
MR- magic ring
Inc- increase
Dec- decrease

We will start with the thumb. Make 1

R1-Sc 6 in MR
R2-Inc in each stitch (12)
R3- sc in each stitch (12)
R4- sc in each stitch (12)
R5-sc 3, dec, sc 3, dec, sc 2 (10)
R6-9 sc in each stitch (10)

Next make the fingers (3)
R1-Sc 6 in MR
R2-Inc in each stitch (12)
R3- sc in each stitch (12)
R4- sc in each stitch (12)
R5-sc 3, dec, sc 3, dec, sc 2 (10)
R6-11- sc in each stitch (10)
Fasten off first two fingers but do not fasten off the third
When you finish the third finger we are now going to attach the 3 fingers and start working on the hand.
R12-Start by sc one finger to another with 5 sc and then the next finger to the that one with 5 sc
They should all be connected now. Continue sc around the back of those fingers to the first sc. (30)
R13- sc around
R14- sc inc, sc 14, sc inc, sc 14 (32)
R14- sc around (32)
R15-now we add the thumb by attaching it with 2 sc into the next two stitches. Continue around (32)
R16-sc around making sure to include the thumb now (38)
This is when I started stuffing everything. I stuffed mine pretty fully so it woul keep a good shape. Continue to stuff as you go.
R17-sc around (38)
R18- (sc6, Dec )x4, sc6 (34)
R19- (sc5, Dec)x4, sc6 (30)
R20- sc in each stitch (30)
R21- (sc4, Dec)x5 (25)
R22-(sc3,Dec)x5 (20)
R23- sc around (20)
R24-(sc3, Dec) x4 (16)
R25-65- sc16 around
You can make it longer or shorter depending on preference.
When you finish the last row don’t fasten off.
We need to make the ring.
MR
R1-6 sc into magic ring
R2-Inc each st (12)
R3-24- sc into each st
Stuff fully.
Sew the two ends together to create the ring.
Now sew the still opened long tube of the slappy hand onto the ring. I marked out my circle with pins to help guide me.
The reason I did it this way was to make sure there was a bit more sturdiness to the whole structure. I knew my kids were going to definitely slap each other with it so I wanted it to be strong.
