Hat is knit from the bottom up in the round with simple 1-over-1 cables. So easy. No cable needle required. Slouchy hats are my favorite. You should be able to make this hat smaller by using lighter weight yarn and/or changing needle sizes.

Any DK or light worsted weight yarn will be perfect for this slightly slouchy beret. If you use worsted or aran weight, the hat will obviously be larger, but such yarn may also work if you adjust needle size of knit more tightly. Lion Brand “Heartland” is labeled as weight “4”, but I consider it to be on the light side of worsted.
