This is basic guidance for making a toe-up sock with a short-row heel. It assumes you already know enough about sock knitting to have a preferred toe-up cast on, know your best toe construction, know the total number of stitches you need and have a favourite short row heel. AND you know how to slot a simple stitch pattern into that framework. So more of a stitch description than an actual pattern. I made them, my mate asked me for the pattern, and as there really wasn’t one, I wrote this up for her.

I used 2.25mm needles and magic loop, a Turkish cast-on of 12 stitches, increasing on alternating rows to 72 stitches for my toe box. Easily adjustable in multiples of 4 stitches.
You can also adjust your needle size to fine tune the fit.
