Let the Merry Making begin!

The game here is a bit of slip stitchery, where you never knit with more than one color of yarn per round, yet you end up with a cacophony of color. How exuberant you get with your colors is up to you, but as you can see, we feel that this hat is a canvas for your most unfettered color experiments. Of course, using Neighborhood Fiber Co.’s Studio Chunky means that the color is supersaturated and rich.

With a pattern written in six sizes, this is a hat for all generations, from grandbaby to grandmama.

Notes
To adjust hat depth, work more or fewer ribbing and/or Color Pattern rnds, making sure to end with Rnd 4 of Color Pattern. Each 4-rnd repeat of Color Pattern adds 1/2” to the length of the hat. The hat is intended to have a snug fit on the head, just covering the ears.
If using a different needle size or an alternate yarn, the ribbed brim should be worked on a needle one size smaller than the size used for the Color Pattern to ensure a nice snug fit around the brim. A larger needle is needed for the Colorwork Pattern.
