The name of this cowl comes from the southern most point of New Zealand’s south island, Slope Point. The strong Antartic winds there bend the trees into slanted shapes, rather like the diagonal lines in this design.

This cowl is designed especially for highly variegated indie dyed yarn with short colour repeats. The shifting design creates a balanced look, breaking up any possible pooling and letting the yarn shine through. The easily memorised stitch pattern is addictive to knit and creates a light but warm fabric with plenty of drape and stretch.

If you have some skeins of indie dyed yarn you don’t know what to do with – this is the perfect project for you!
