This super-cuddly sloth is cleverly knitted in one piece (except for the claws), working in a combination of rows and rounds, beginning with the head.

Some sections are worked in rows on a circular knitting needle for ease, as you are creating a curved piece. For these sections a longer 4mm circular knitting needle is used. For the body sections that are worked in the round, you may work on a set of double-pointed needles or a shorter circular knitting needle. The arms and legs are worked in rounds on double-pointed needles as they have a small circumference. The 2.75mm double-pointed needles create a firm i-cord fabric for the claws.
There is very little seaming required.

Parental supervision for children under 3 years is recommended, as this toy has small parts which may present a choking hazard. It is recommended to use safety eyes and a safety nose, but if preferred these face details may be embroidered using yarn instead. For younger children, the claws may also be omitted.

This toy requires intermediate knitting skills.
