Dolcetto DK is butter soft and luxurious for a hat. It says it is 30% cashmere, but it feels like 100%!

The hat is knit as FIVE equal stripes of 2 inches. The crown shaping starts while knitting the Color D stripe and is completed at the end of the Color E stripe. The hat can also be worked in a single color, but won’t be quite as cute!

Materials
String Yarns Dolcetto DK (70% Merino Wool/ 30% Cashmere, 50gms/206 yds) in 5 colors: Shown in Charcoal (Color A), Wine (Color B), Brick (Color C), Silver (Color D), Light Gray (Color E); approx. 10-15 grams each color. Each color is worked for 2 inches.

Needles
US 6 circular (16-20 inches in length or preferred length for hat knitting) and same size dpns, or size needed to obtain gauge; sz 5 (or one size smaller) for ribbing

Gauge
23 sts and 34 rounds = 4 in/10 cm in stockinette in the round after blocking

Misc.
Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Finished dimensions
Dolcetto fabric is deliciously soft. I made the size medium even though I have a much larger head, so I recommend sizing down. If substituting another yarn, this may not apply.

Four Sizes
Small (17 inches), Medium (18 inches), Large (19 ½ inches), Extra Large (20 ¾ inches) x 10”
