A couple months ago I decided I wanted a dragon scale dice bag for my D&D game, and went looking for a pattern. To my dismay all the patterns I could find were all rather large scaled, while I prefer small detail work instead.
So, I took inspiration from an already existing pattern on Ravalry, and made any changes that were necessary to achieve my goal. I highly recommend looking up this original pattern if you are looking to make a larger bag, it’s called “XL dragonscale dice bag” by Jessica Ryan.

This bag is made using a fingering weight yarn, and a 2mm crochet hook. The info up top also lists 2mm knitting needles among the requirements, these are dpn’s for knitting I-cord for the drawstring of the bag. This is a technique I recommend for the drawstring, but is not necessary. A single crochet foundation chain will work as well.

For this bag the crocodile stitch is used in the construction of the scales, if you are unfamiliar with this technique you might want to look up a video. Just to get an idea of it.
