Construction:
The sweater is knitted seamlessly from the top down using the European (Japanese)
shoulder method. After shaping the shoulders, the body and sleeves a’re worked in the
round. The neckband is knitted separately and attached later.
Gauge:
20 stitches × 30 rows = 10 × 10 cm in the main pattern
Needles:
4.5 mm, 3 mm
Yarn:
Original yarn: Dorothy Papi Fabio (90% merino, 10% cashmere), 1550 m/100 g,
held in 6 strands (equivalent to 260 m/100 g)
Approximate yarn usage for size L: 550 g (~1420 m)
Substitute yarn: Any wool or cotton-blend yarn with a gauge of 230–280 m per 100
g, ensuring it matches the given gauge.
Main pattern: 12 sts and 10 rows: a 6-stitch cable and a panel of 4 knit stitches,
separated by single purl stitch columns.
Construction Overview:
Back: Knit from the top down using short rows to shape the neckline and shoulder
slope.
Front: Stitches are picked up from the back shoulder edges and worked separately
for the left and right front pieces while shaping the neckline.
Joining: Once the required length is reached, the front and back are joined. Sleeve
stitches are picked up, and the sweater transitions to circular knitting.
Body & Sleeves: At the armholes, sleeve stitches are placed on hold, and the body
is worked in the round. The bottom hem and sleeve cuffs are finished with 2x2
ribbing.
Neckband: Worked separately and attached using a tambour stitch and Kitchener
stitch for a seamless finish.
Sizes available: chest 90-110 cm
