My husband always used to call me a nerd because I wore glasses. Karma wins, since he wears ‘em now too! Nerds are the coolest people, and everyone knows it. We also seem to gravitate to cats, so this design is a tribute to all the geeky cat people who run the world!

This design is knit in the round from the top down, and features an expanding colorwork yoke chart, with short rows added to raise the back and create a more comfortable neckline. With 3/4 length sleeves and a cropped hem, this makes for a quick knit and a casual “swancho-style” fit. This pattern is designed at the “early intermediate” skill level. Prior experience with stranded colorwork is recommended.

MC in DK Weight: Approximately 700 (750, 800, 850, 900, 950, 1000, 1100, 1200) yards; 640 (686, 732, 777, 822, 869, 914, 1006, 1097) meters.

CC in DK Weight: Approximately 200 (210, 220, 230, 250, 270, 280, 290, 300) yards; 183 (192, 201, 210, 229, 247, 256, 265, 274) meters.

Gauge in main needle (US Size 7/4.5mm): 18 st & 26 rows = 4”/10cm in the round after blocking. Use recommended needles, or needles in a size that will achieve gauge.

Suggested Ease:
The suggested positive ease is somewhere between 0-6”/15cm. Knit the size that will achieve the ease of your choice. For example, my bust size is 37”/94cm, but I knit the size up (42”/107) to achieve 5”/13cm of positive ease.
