This is a small fun project to use up odds and ends of any sock yarn (<5g per egg). Why not make a few and use them to try out different increases and decreases, and any decorative techniques that appeal to you?

Instructions are included for working this in the round or flat. Working flat allows you to complete the work before sewing a seam around your egg-form; working ITR means a bit of fiddling (moving stitches to waste yarn near the end to slip the egg-form in, then doing the last rounds with the egg-form in place) but of course avoids a seam.

I worked on this as an outlet and distraction over the last week, which has been a particularly challenging and intense one for women in the UK https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56384600. My pattern/recipe is freely shared; please consider making a donation to Sisters Uncut or your preferred feminist charity.
