Smilla’s hood“ is the cardigan version of my Summerhood sweater.

It is worked top-down, thus starting at the top of the hood. The hood merges into the upper body, which is shaped with Raglan increases. The Broken Seed stitch of the hood’s edges continues on the button bands and is also used for the hem and the cuffs. The lower body includes a bit of waist shaping, with more increases than decreases, and comes along with pockets in Broken Seed stitch.

Needles: Main needle size is 3,5mm. (3,25mm for hem and cuff.)
Gauge: 24 sts x 34 rows in Stockinette after blocking.

For the given overall length of approx. 80cm, you will need approx. 1500/ 1675/ 1800/ 1925/ 2050 m of a Sport weight yarn (distributed nearly evenly between colors C1 + C2).
(For a shorter/ longer version, you will save/ need approx. 15-20m of yarn per cm.)

For my sample, I have used Yundi & Grete Smilla (100% wool; 350m/ 100g).

I have sewed on 11 buttons of size 1,5mm.
