I love textured stitches and used a smocked stitch for these fun socks. Smocked Socks is a toe-up charted sock pattern knitted on two circular needles, available in sizes Medium & Large.

The pattern features the smocked pattern on the instep and a striped stranded pattern on the sole and back of the leg. The smocked stitch can be done with or without a cable needle. Great for pairing dark and light colored yarns or a variegated with a solid yarn.

This pattern is suitable for intermediate/advanced knitters and includes color charts for the instep and foot. The pattern is in digital (.pdf) form and is available for instant download.

Pattern uses:

~ 2.75mm circular needles (I use 2x - 16” circulars)

~ Medium size: One 50-gram ball of fingering yarn in Main Color and One 50-gram ball of fingering yarn in Contrast Color

~ Large size: Two 50-gram balls of fingering yarn in Main Color and One 50-gram ball of fingering yarn in Contrast Color

~ Cable Needle

Suitable for intermediate/advanced knitters familiar with basic sock knitting construction, colorwork techniques and cable stitches.
