Dear lover of Yarn Stories and of the tactile art of knitting,

This glove pattern has been designed to match my Smola scarf pattern. Both are knitted using Moorgrass, Dewdrop, Egg Shell and Maroon, colours which are the colours of the gate and the paintwork of the tiny house, which I am trying to buy in Levenwick.

Both the gloves and scarf are designed using traditional Shetland dice patterns and the colours of the are a nod to the colours of the gate and the paintwork at the little house in Levenwick, Shetland, mentioned above.

You can make a Long fingerless pair of gloves, or you can make an easier shorter pair of mitts by starting at a different place in the chart. You can knit these gloves with a moss stitch rib or 1 x 1 rib. for the finger opening. You’ll not be able to put them down both whilst making and when made.

Yarn: 1 x 25g of each of the following 9 Jamieson’s of Shetland, Spindrift. 100% Pure Shetland Wool

Colour chart using below colours.

Colours: 720 Dewdrop, 768 Eggshell, 595 Maroon, 248 Havana, 563 Rouge, 286 Moorgrass, 165 Dusk
1020 Nighthawk, 567 Damask. If you would like to buy 7 colours instead of 9, you can drop Nighthawk and
Damask and use Moorgrass and Dusk instead for those rounds instead. It all still works out beautifully.

Size: - Circumference above the thumb – 8 inches / 20cm. Length from below middle finger to the start row of rib – 8.5 inches / 21.5cm

Tension:- 31 rows and 31 stitches to 10 cm measured over the pattern using UK 3mm needles.

The Shetland Wall Flowers pattern also uses this Shetland dice pattern and the colour charts are interchangeable for all of the 3 patterns mentioned here.

This pattern is only sold through Ravelry and not through any yarn company.
