This scarf pattern takes advantage of the natural roll of stockinette fabric, giving the snake a rather realistic, sneaky look. Patterned after the docile ribbon snake, its vertical stripes are an easy introduction to colorwork and don’t leave you with lots of ends to weave in, the way horizontal stripes do.

Make it for kids, teens or adults -- it’s perfect for any repitle lover in your life! Also, it can double as a toy for little ones.

Use any worsted weight wool yarn. I used Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool in Nature’s Brown for MC, Oatmeal for CC and Natural for the whites of the eyes. I used black Paton’s Merino for the pupils and nostrils.
