Snæfell
Snæfell is a traditional Icelandic lopapeysa (nearly-seamless yoke sweater). Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarms, all the stitches are then joined to work the yoke in round. Round starts on the left side of the body but on the yoke the round starts at the joints of sleeves and body (left side of back). At the top of the body (back) are some extra rows worked back and forth to make it higher in the back.
Recommended 5 - 20 cm (2 - 8 in) in positive ease. The model in the darker sweater is wearing size 4 (96 cm chest) that gives her a 20 cm (8 in) ease. The model in the light version is wearing size 1 (85 cm chest) giving her a 9 cm (3.5 in) ease. Note that the fit is a personal preference, some don’t want any ease while others want a looser fit. If unsure about what fit is desired a recommendation is to measure yourself and then measure another sweater that has a good fit. The difference between the two measurements is the ease you should apply.
