ICELANDIC LOPI
The Icelandic sheep has developed through centuries of isolation and harsh climate. This has resulted in wool with unusually long outer fibres with tough and water-resistant qualities, combined with fine, soft inner fibers that insulate against cold temperature. Added to this, the yarn is produced only with natural energy from geothermal power, which makes a sustainable production of a long-lasting and functional material.

The Icelandic lopi yarn is produced in several different weights, both spun and unspun. This pattern is adjusted for plötulopi, which is unspun yarn. Hold it double when knitting, be careful with the sensitive threads, and it makes a soft, lightweight but warm sweater.
