Happy new year everyone! 2023 is here and with it, the year of the rabbit is coming! I absolutely love bunnies so I decided on a fun little project this year: 12 months of bunnies! Eventually, I want to make a zodiac animal for every year to watch over our apartment, but for my favorite zodiac animal, I thought it’d be nice to have one for every month of the year. So, here we are. Let’s kick off January with the Snowbunny!

Materials
To make the Snowbunny (and its snowman) you will need:
– A Crochet hook, 2.5mm
– Yarns in your color of choice for the bunny and its accessories (I used white and red and made a pompom for the hat using white fluffy yarn) as well as for the snowman’s scarf (I used a light blue). For the snowman you will need white (duh), brown and a small amount of orange.
– A tapestry needle and scissors
– Stuffing
– Safety eyes (I used 6mm for the snowman’s eyes and buttons and 9mm for the bunny’s eyes)
– A stitch marker to help you keep track of the start of the round
Please note that you can make the Snowbunny using any size crochet hook and yarn weight for a smaller or bigger result. I like using DK as it’s most commonly available. If you make amigurumi, it is usually recommended to go down a bit from the recommended hook size for the yarn to allow for a no-hole look (we don’t want to see the stuffing show through in between stitches)! Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook, the Snowbunny should be about 20cm tall.

Stitches & Abbreviations
The pattern is written using US crochet terms in continuous spirals. You will need to know the following kinds of stitches to make him:
– Magic Ring (MR)
– Chaning (Ch)
– Single crochet (sc)
– Decrease (dec); preferably using the invisible decrease method
– Increase (inc)
